The Nassau Animal Emergency Group was established in 1978 by 34 Nassau County veterinarians who wished to provide their clients with quality veterinary care, as an extension of their hospitals, during the hours they are not available for your pet's needs.
The function of the Nassau Animal Emergency Group is to provide emergency treatment and to stabilize your pet's condition until he/she can be seen by your veterinarian for follow-up care.
The hospital is staffed by N.Y.S. licensed veterinarians and N.Y.S. licensed technicians who are prepared to meet all of your pet's emergency needs.
If you have an emergency with your pet, please first call the veterinarian who normally tends to your pet's needs. When you are referred to us for emergency service, please call the hospital before arriving so preparations can be made to receive your pet.
There is a standard fee charged for the emergency examination. Fees for treatment and medication will be discussed with you during the examination.
A copy of all treatments administered to your pet will be given to you. A copy will be faxed to your veterinarian and one will be kept on file at the hospital.
